Pepper Party uses the scale C-Db-Eb-F-Ab-B-C, or the Raga Viyogavarali. The melody and harmony of the first two sections announced themselves to me with little effort on my part, and it was a delight to simply notate what I was hearing in my mind. Later, I worked to integrate these themes in the third section. I enjoy both the lively and pensive moments of this piece.
